
Susan Avril (McIlveen) McCauley
HUDSON, NH Susan Avril (McIlveen) McCauley, 77, of Hudson, NH, died after a long illness Saturday, April 9, 2011 at Fairview Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Joseph McCauley who passed away in 1994.
Born April 12, 1933, in Ireland, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Amelia McIlveen. She was educated in Ireland and attended college in Ireland.
She was born and raised in Ireland where she lived until her thirties before coming to the United States, settling in Massachusetts. First she made her home in the Boston area, and later in Lowell and Billerica. After her retirement she moved to Nashua. She enjoyed playing video games, especially Sega, and loved the Andy Griffith Show. She was a very nice and loving person. She loved spending time with her husband, Joseph until he passed away in 1994. More recently she enjoyed spending time with her nieces and her friends in the nursing home.
She was employed as an accountant in Ireland before coming to the United States. Once settled in the United States she worked as a Nurse's Aid in Boston.
She is survived by three children, her son, Peter, and her daughters, Sharon and Angela; her nieces and nephews, Lorna Sideman of Acton, ME, Carlene Tessier and her husband, David of Hudson, NH, David Viera and his wife, Ann of Pelham, NH, Don Viera and his wife, Marie of Pelham, NH, Lori Shepherd and her husband, Bill of Tennessee, Lisa DiFruscia of Hudson, NH, , and Carl Sideman and his wife, Beverly of Pennsylvania; two grand nieces, Jamie Tessier and Krista Tessier of Hudson, NH; and a close friend, Ellie Enwright of South Carolina. She is also survived by many grandchildren and her friends at Fairview Nursing Home in Hudson.
She was also the mother of the late Steven Vertigans and the late Colin Vertigans.
