Ronald P. ‘Ronnie’ Devine

LOWELL Ronald P. ‘Ronnie’ Devine, 65, of Dracut, died after a brief illness with his family by his side Friday, April 1, 2011 at Lowell General Hospital. He was the husband of the late Elaine M. (Shaughnessy) Devine whom passed away in July 2008 after thirty years of marriage.

Born March 24, 1946, in Lawrence, he was the son of the late Isabel Devine, and attended local schools in the Methuen and Lawrence area of the Merrimack Valley.

He resided in Dracut, and was employed as a truck driver for over twenty years for Yellow Freight, working throughout New Hampshire and several cities in Massachusetts including, Andover and New Bedford. For the last twenty years, he enjoyed repairing small engines. He also loved to spend time with his family and his dog, Flossy, who was always by his side.

He is survived by his children, Rhonda J. Devine of Salisbury, Dean M. Eastwood of Dracut, Karen A. Desmarais and her partner, Edward Black of Dracut, Laurie Pare and her husband, Joseph of Dracut, and Michael J. Eastwood of Dracut; his cousins, Mike and Robert Ferraro of Methuen; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and his best friends Jimmy and Lorraine Rogers of Dracut.

He was also predeceased by a daughter, Sherry Devine.
