LOWELL Bryan C. ‘Mickey’ McFadden Sr., 79, a lifelong Lowell resident and devoted husband to Lillian E. (Cox) McFadden, died Friday, April 1, 2011 peacefully at his home of 54 years surrounded by his loving family after an extended illness.
A son of the late Charles Patrick and the late Mary Jane (Sherrin) McFadden, he was born July 7, 1931, in Lowell. He graduated from Immaculate Conception Grammar School, Class of 1945 and Keith Academy, Class of 1949. He served with the United States Navy aboard the USS Cascade (AD16) from 1953 to 1957.
He was a lifelong resident of the Belvidere section of Lowell.
Mr. McFadden worked as a compositor at Sullivan Brother’s Printing Co. for 29 years. Then for the City of Lowell School Department for 25 years as a school custodian retiring in 2001.
Mickey enjoyed summers at York Beach in Maine at Flagg’s Trailer Park and riding his bike along the coast. In his retirement years he enjoyed feeding the birds in his backyard.
In addition to his wife, Lillian, he is survived by his children, Michael F. McFadden and his wife, Dee, of Lowell, Bryan C. McFadden Jr. and his wife, Jeannine, of Dracut, Patricia ‘Tricia’ A. McFadden of Lowell, Marianne McInerney and her husband, Kevin, of Chelmsford, Kevin P. McFadden and his wife, Kelly, of Tewksbury, Sean M. McFadden of Wells, ME, Nancy E. McFadden of Lowell, and Adam C. McFadden and his girlfriend Danielle Bergeron of Lowell; his eight grandchildren, Patrick and Amy McInerney and Melanie, Meghan, Justin, Brady, Kasey and Kiley McFadden; and his great grandson, Adrian; one sister Louise May of Hampton NH and several nieces and nephews.
