Loving Brother and Uncle
LOWELL Brian J. Daly, 66, of Lowell, died after a courageous battle with cancer at his home with his loving family by his side, Thursday, February 2, 2012.
Born December 27, 1945, in Lowell, he was a son of the late William J. Daly, and the late Grace (O'Connell) Daly.
Brian was a longtime resident of the Belvidere section of Lowell until more recently when he moved to Tewksbury to live with his sister, Barbara. He worked for many years with his father at Westford Arms Realty, which was the family business, and also for UPS, and more recently at Stop and Shop in Methuen until his retirement in 2011. Brian was a member of RARA and Life Links in Lowell. He participated in the Special Olympics in Boston, and was very proud of the medals he earned. He enjoyed bowling, playing bingo, dancing, being outdoors taking care of his yard, and spending time with his family and friends. He also loved to vacation in York Beach, ME, and Florida where he enjoyed golfing, and going to Disney World. He will be dearly missed by his family and his many friends.
He is survived by his beloved sister, Barbara and her husband, Francis 'Buddy' Doherty of Tewksbury; his nieces and nephews, Kathleen Hodgson and her husband, Brian of Lowell, William Doherty and his wife, Roxanne of Andover, Lisa Butler and her husband, Lee of Lowell, and Michael Doherty and his wife, Shannon of Tewksbury; his twelve great nieces and nephews, Kyle and Melanie Hodgson, Ian, Meghan, Haley, Liam, Piper, and Maddox Doherty, Kevin and Madison Butler, and Hanna and Sadie Doherty; and one great grand niece, Kara.
He was also the brother of the late William J. Daly Jr.
